Transport and Plant
We deliver to sites and erect structural steelwork around the country using our own J & D Pierce fleet, equipment and plant.
Our unmissable, branded articulated lorries, trailers, mobile cranes and vans are recognised up and down the UK.
All of our vehicles are modern, fuel efficient and fully livered. Regular driver CPC training is carried out in our own JAUPT approved training centre. Operatives of our equipment are all highly trained and fully certified in all transport operations.
Our continued investment in equipment and training ensures that our fleet and plant equipment are dependable resources for clients, available nationwide for projects of all sizes.

Transport
We operate a fleet of over thirty vans and six articulated lorries.
With a single vehicle, we have the capacity to haul up to 68 t at a time. We also operate a number of escort vehicles for use when transporting especially long or wide loads nationwide.
We operate our own fleet of trailers, including 13.5m tri-axle flatbed trailers and extendable trailers up to 22m for transportation of structural steelwork, For transportation of our plant equipment, we have several low loader trailers, as well as a super low loader with curtained side for even larger loads and equipment.
Eco-friendly
Our entire J & D Pierce fleet use EURO 6 emission standard engines. This helps lower emissions and therefore reduces the environmental impact of our vehicles.
Plant
MEWPs
We have twenty-two mobile elevated working platforms (MEWPs) in our fleet. Ranging from 45 feet to 90 feet. our MEWPs are all-terrain ready and can be utilised in the most challenging of environments – with a variety of both straight boom and Z-boom models allowing our operatives to work efficiently in extremely tight surroundings.
All of our equipment is fitted with INFOBRIC – a management and access control system. This ensures only trained and certified operatives who have been pre-authorised by J & D Pierce can access and operate our MEWPs.
Mobile Cranes
We have a fleet of ten Grove all-terrain mobile cranes that range from 55 t to 150 t capability. These allow us to carry out the majority of lifting operations without the need to hire cranes.
Telehandlers
Our fleet includes several all-terrain telehandlers. The variety of models allow us to have a maximum lift height of 32 ft, maximum react of 19 ft, as well 360° degree lift capability.
Garage
Our J & D Pierce in-house Garage is fully staffed at our HQ in Glengarnock.
Our staff, which include mechanics and bodyshop paint specialists, ensure all our vehicles and plant equipment throughout the UK are maintained to the highest standard.
